Municipal Contingency Plan for Elderly and Individuals in Situation of Voluntary Isolation and Quarantine
Within the scope of strategies for the prevention and control of the infection by the new virus - CORONAVÍRUS (COVID-19) - and considering the guidelines of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), the Municipality of Penela prepared the Municipal Contingency Plan for Elderly and Individuals in Situation of Voluntary Isolation and Quarantine that are not covered by any social response, without a family and / or a social support network, with procedures to be adopted that will allow to support these groups at greatest risk.
RECIPIENTS:
The support provided is intended for seniors who are in a situation of social isolation, without a family and / or an institutional support network, and people in quarantine without a family and / or a social support network.
Only citizens with permanent residence in the geographical area of the municipality of Penela can benefit from this measure.
REPORTING THE SITUATIONS:
The situations should preferably be reported to the Social Services Office (GAS) of the Municipality of Penela through:

The Social Services Office (GAS) of the Municipality of Penela, in collaboration with the partners of the Social Network, carries out the assessment and verification of the situation of geographical isolation and the lack of family, social and institutional support.
Communication between entities will preferably be done via email and telephone, without prejudice to the use of other forms whenever this is essential for the effectiveness of the action.
Each situation will necessarily have a decision, which will be communicated via e-mail or telephone, within a period not exceeding one business day.
The delivery of essential goods will be done safely and as quickly as possible by properly identified employees of the municipality, in vehicles with the municipality's logo.
The driver or any other employee cannot place orders or make payments in the supermarkets or other comercial establishments.
ORDER AND PAYMENT OF GOODS – FOOD, MEDECINES AND FIRST NEED GOODS:
All orders are the sole responsibility of the person.
All suppliers of goods and services must be located in the geographical area of the municipality of Penela.
The person establishes contact with the commercial establishment (supermarket, pharmacy…), places the order for essential goods, agrees with the supplier about the way of payment and informs that the products will be collected by a properly identified employee of Penela Municipality .
The supplier informs the person of the date and time that the goods are ready to be collected by the employee of the Municipality.
The person informs the Social Services Office - G.A.S of the date, time and place to pick up the products that immediately, provides the delivery whenever possible on the same day.
